Ferro-C^™ tablets provide 27 mg of carbonyl iron that is easily absorbed. It also contains key nutrients important for iron absorption while supporting the formation and proper function of red blood cells. In the human body, iron is present in all cells and has several vital functions mediated through red blood cells _ as a carrier of oxygen to the tissues from the lungs in the form of hemoglobin (Hb), as a facilitator of oxygen use and storage in the muscles as myoglobin, as a transport medium for electrons within the cells in the form of cytochromes, and as an integral part of enzyme reactions in various tissues. Low iron can interfere with these vital functions.
Both vitamin C and E provide antioxidants to protect against oxidative damage. The B vitamins act as coenzymes and are essential components in most major metabolic reactions, including energy metabolism.
